Meredith Bakke

Meredith Bakke is an artist living and working outside of Austin TX. She is currently completing her last year at Texas State University and will be graduating with a BFA in Studio Art, Painting this December. Current exhibitions include the online exhibition, Inner | Other (May 2021), and “Am I Beautiful?” (August 2021) as well as her senior exhibition at the Texas State Galleries (December 2021). Meredith’s work primarily depicts female subjects, in strange, unfamiliar, or uncomfortable situations. In her work, she explores concepts of the grotesque, shame, and sociocultural theory. She is also the host of the upcoming podcast Beyond the Art, which set to debut January 2022.
